Tribes of Urag

Culture: Mixed tribal   Government: Tribal Confederation   Capital: Dorgrugh

The Tribes of Urag are not a nation in the conventional sense. They are a loose confederation of frontier peoples — bound by shared territory, shared enemies, and a shared rejection of the kind of centralized power that the other four nations represent. They exist on the margins of Ilrora’s political map, and they prefer it that way.

Capital: Dorgrugh

Dorgrugh is less a capital city and more a gathering place — the settlement where tribal leaders meet to trade, negotiate disputes, and occasionally present a unified front to the outside world. It is rough, practical, and deliberately unwelcoming to anyone who arrives with the expectation of being impressed. Travelers who expect a capital get a frontier town. That’s the point.

History

Dorran Hale — one of The Five — was found abandoned on the border of Elandorr and Urag. He was raised by enslaved humans and went on to fight in the War of Freedom. That connection between Urag and the human revolt is not lost on either side. The tribes were never elven subjects in the way humans were, and they never forgave the elves for trying. By 1200 ARM, Urag maintains its confederation structure and its independence — occasionally clashing with its neighbors, occasionally trading with them, and always on its own terms.
